Week 48. Wandering
2024

At times nothing makes sense any more, there’s too much noise and clutter all around, we feel stuck or not able to change anything. There’s a saying that goes like: “when the mind does not move, move the body” (or something like that, I surely did not make this up), meaning, that when things feel stagnant, unbearable, downright crazy, then it’s good to take the age old medicine - wandering. To move, go, hop, straddle, dance with no direction, no destination to reach, just embrace the true nature of wandering. Taking random turns, seeing where it leads us, figuring out from there where to go next and repeating the process. There’s just something very restoring about the act of getting lost and being able to get back on track by ourselves. Maybe it proves to us that we are able to find a solution to any problem and that nothing is too big to figure out while we’re walking the path, doing the movements. Maybe it’s showing to ourselves that we are actually very capable and well equipped to do the task of living, we only needed solid proof to regain the confidence and trust in ourselves. Whatever the case might be, after a session of wandering the previously knotted situations and problems have a habit of seeming a bit more manageable, less life threatening and scary, more like a small hurdle rather than that huge unconquerable dragon we’ve seen before.
Hope this helps to ride this last bit of the year unscathed or maybe even triumphant.
This week's inspiration for a theme, as always, was life expereince.. aaand, the movie "Alice Through The Looking Glass". I know, it's not a new movie in general, but it was new for me. Musical inspirations for the mood of the week are very different but nicely cooexisting in my life: "Missing U" by Robyn, "All My Love" by Coldplay, and for a darker mood "Myxomatosis" by Radiohead.
Have a wander-full week.
